Easter Monday 18th April – bike **** – Around Felixstowe trip to Levington Marina – thin cloud.

After a sunny start it clouded over leaving a weak sight of the sun and being a Bank Holiday Monday, we were happy to stay at home. Usual morning while Mag continued her huge repotting mission, I still managed my exercises in the garden before making lunch. With Mag happy in the garden, I decided to head out on my bike, first checking that my tire was still up, the slime had done its job, so all I had to do was add some more air. I did not leave home until 2.15 with no real idea where I was going? Past the cemetery ending up at Gulpher Road, turning right into Candlet Lane and under the A 14 before taking a bridle way to the right for the first time and was impressed as it disappeared into some trees with loads of bluebells too, I eventually came out by the last Trimley roundabout before carrying on along the busy A 14 before turning down to Levington Marina. A circuit of the boat yard stopping to take some pics by the windsurf launch, I was standing on the marina entrance as a yacht came in and the owner if I was Stephen Squirrell, I said yes and he said he follows me on Facebook, fame indeed! then taking the path around Loompit Lake with loads of geese on the River Orwell. The tide was high and the winds light but there were a few boats out. I then took the path to Trimley Marshes stopping at the seat with fantastic views up the Orwell for a snack, having a nice chat with an old boy also out on his bike. I then bumped past the dead tree lagoon and nature reserve to Felixstowe Docks before turning inland. I then spotted 20 deer including two white ones sitting in a field to the left. I got as close as I could to take some pics, that made them stand up and amble off towards the small reservoir, there were a couple of impressive males too. Always great to see some deer:) Then back past the huge warehouse, Morrisons and home, a nice ride, not the same without Mags :(
